Vivienne has over 30 years' experience in business-to-business technical publishing and has been a part of the Hi-Tech Security Solutions' team since it was conceptualised by Ray Beaumont in the late 1990s. Vivienne has been the driving force behind Hi-Tech Security Solutions, guiding the brand to what it is today. She earned a BCom degree and is a shareholder and director of Technews Publishing, giving the brand its unique flair as an industry-relevant owner-driven publication.
Graeme Bell holds the executive role of Chief Information Officer on the board of Technews Publishing and is a shareholder in the company. He joined Technews in 1997 as a technical editor. Prior to joining Technews he had more than 10 years of hands-on experience in electronic, automation, and bio-medical engineering. He is a past-president of the Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement and Control (SAIMC). Graeme has a post-graduate diploma in electrical engineering, a post-graduate diploma in business management and an MBA with majors in information management and e-business.
Jane has many years' experience in technical publishing. She joined Technews in 1985 and has worked in several departments within the company - production, circulation and sales - gaining an in-depth understanding of publishing effective trade journals. Most importantly, she was the personal assistant to the founder of Technews, Ray Beaumont, a doyen of publishing in his time. Ray relied on Jane for all his communication with clients and readers, and one can say she earned a MA in publishing through this role. Jane took over the business management and sales of SA Instrumentation and Control in 2000 and Motion Control in 2005 when the title was purchased. She has led her team to build these publications into the pre-eminent publications in their sectors, highly regarded by readers and advertisers alike. A further endorsement of Jane's knowledge of the control and automation industry is her work with the Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement & Control (SAIMC) both on a national and Durban branch level.
Before joining Technews, Malckey worked in the electronic components distribution industry for over 5 years, gaining a thorough understanding of the South African electronics manufacturing and distribution industries. Driven by her passion for and her understanding of the SA electronics industry, she has led her team in publishing Dataweek, the only SA publication focussed on electronics and communications technologies, for 19 years. Dataweek is the market leading publication in its sector, respected by both readers and advertisers. A further endorsement of Malckey's knowledge and respect in the SA electronics industry is her key role as a committee member of AREI (The Association of Representatives for the Electronics Industry).
